I think I would switch midwives if all turns out well tomorrow, which it probably will. The pink could have been from sex and lots of people have an excess of discharge at this stage. I can't imagine that there would be enough amniotic fluid in there at this point for it to be like that. Plus, if it was that, I believe it would just keep constantly coming out. Not just a gush here and there. Honestly, even if she couldn't find a heartbeat, I would get a second opinion. She sounds a bit dense for not even thinking of other possibilities. A miscarriage tends to be quite a lot of blood and cramping.

And I know this sounds like a silly question, but could it have been urine? A bladder infection could probably cause all of that stuff. They are pretty common in pregnancy too.

I read this and was utterly shocked...It doesnt seem like a miscarriage I am very wet down there quite a lot, and sometimes Ive had to rush to go to the loo thinking it was blood but it was just the increased cervical mucous..also having a little staining after sex is normal as well due to the engorged blood vessels..Can you call back and speak to another midwife hun, I would want to speak to someone else..

So sorry to hear you're going thro this right now. It does sound to me like the watery gush was your waters breaking, especially with the staining on the sheet. And the pink/brown stuff after could be your mucus plug. I really hope this is not the case and you continue to have a healthy pregnancy. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. xxx

Could be a UTI infection that caused the excess discharge and the pink tinge to it. Dont alarm yourself until you have a scan and check on the baby growth.

Keep your hopes up, I had bleeding with clots on first trimester due to partial placenta abruption and guess what I am 7 months pregnant today! Dont listen to anyone just keep your hopes up till you get a real confirmation of what is happening.

Big hugs

sorry to hear how your midwife has scared you! Like the other said the bit of pink blood could be sex ( I've had this once) and the watery discharge could be just that normal discharge, or pee, or semen?

Let us know how it goes xxxx

I don't know anything about the signs of preterm labor, but nothing else has been all that abnormal. No significant cramping, still nauseous most of the day, & I slept fine last night (even on the stupid towel), without any more fluid or signs of blood this morning. I have an appointment for early this afternoon. So I will let you guys know how it goes. I am really scared, though. I wish my midwife, even if she strongly suspected I was miscarrying, would have said something like "Lets get you in right away to see what's going on, but don't panic until we know for sure" instead of making it impossible for me to keep a clear mind. Sigh.
