A week or so ago I said I wasn't showing. Well, that has now changed. I believe I am in my 9th week. Guess I better figure out what to get before I can't fit into any clothes anymore. LOL

That's exciting to think one might be further along than they think

I truly don't know how far along I am as I can't remember when my last period was. December was a crazy month, and obviously active for me to become pregnant. LOL By approximation though, I believe I had my period end of November/beginning December. I honestly don't think it was after that.

Maybe at my first scan at the end of March they will tell me I am farther along. LOL

LOL!

I remember thinking during that month:

1) Hope I don't have my period on December 15th, my hubby's birthday. I didn't have it.

2) Hope I don't have it for Christmas. I didn't get it.

3) Hope I don't get it for New Years. I didn't get it.

4) Second week of January - Hmm, I am starving in the morning and haven't had it yet. Time to go buy a home pregnancy test. The positive came up in seconds.

LOL

At this stage, baby isn't big enough to be having an effect on your tummy size, but there are many other factors that can contribute to you growing early on in pregnancy - A lot of women suffer from constipation and wind, and you'd be amazed how bloated that can make your tummy. Another thing is that some women let themselves go a bit when they get pregnant and start 'eating for two' (when baby only needs an extra 200 caleries in the last trimester!). It could be water retention. If you're really concerned, ask your doctor or midwife about it. Because it is a bit odd to jump up 3 clothes sizes in 8 weeks... It's probably nothing to worry about, but best to be on the safe side.

Another thing you might want to consider, is that your mind can play tricks with you while you're pregnant - maybe because you feel uncomfortable with pressure on your tummy (this is very common in early pregnancy) you tend to wear bigger clothes to feel more comfy - even if you haven't grown that much. Or maybe because you're pregnant you're expecting to grow so much you'll have to be cut out of your house, your mind puts an extra couple of inches onto your body image? Is it possible you think you're bigger than you are?
