sleep..

hi.
before i became pregnant i wasnt an excellent sleeper but for the past week or so i havnt been sleeping very well.
ive been falling asleep at about 11ish and ive been waking all through the night sometimes about 5 times.
then by 4 o'clock im wide awake and then i cant get back to sleep.
i must finally fall asleep after 5 o'clock but when i wake up at 7-8ish it feels like i havnt slept at all the night before.
im obviously sleeping very lightly.

why is this?
is it because my body doesnt slow down at night time as im pregnant and my body needs to be 'going 24/7' for baby.

i get really frustrated over sleep,if i cant get comfy thats it i go mad.

thanks.

I don't know why it is but I've had the same problems as you, I wake up every hour and a half to two hours and than I wake up around 4 and am wide awake! Takes me a good hour or so to go back to sleep. Very frustrating.

I have no clue why, but since I've been PG I sleep horribly too. The only time I slept well is when I was on the anti-emetic pills in the first tri..and then I slept ALL the time.

My sleep troubles come and go. Last night was bad. Plus at one point I was getting comfortable but my tiny turkey decided it was not, and kicked and kicked and kicked till I moved. UGH!!

Sounds just like my nightly sleeping or not, it is really frustrating!
But i guess it beats the sleepless nights to come when the bumps arrive and wake up every hour for a fed, so i'm enjoying the sleep i can get for the next few months.

It's probably your body getting you ready for the times ahead when you will have no sleep. LOL

No, I seriously think that it's to do with excitement, apprehension, etc. I experienced this as well. If you can, take a nap throughout the day. I never could through any of my pregnancies and when my children were born as we own a few companies. If you are able, take naps!
