Hope you're feeling well, ive been lucky and not had nasuea so far (fingers crossed!) little bit tired and slightly moody perhaps.. pretty normal... cannot wait for the scan and get some bump so i can celebrate being properly pregnant!!

Hi guys - Im nearly 37 and this will be my third child (assuming it sticks!!) I had a miscarriage on 25th December so was shocked to find myself pregnant again so soon.

What sort of additional things have you been advised to have as an "older!!" mum?

I'm not even sure how far along I am but as we've only BD'd twice since my miscarriage it must be between 4.5 and 5.5 weeks!! I want to have the nucal fold scan and I understand you need to be done at the right time for it to be worthwhile - anyone know anything about it?

Sorry for all the questions!!

I read your other post - it sounds as if that nurse is a b##ch and should be kept away from patients. Sorry you had such a horrid experience x

Hi Im 34 and single(ish) and I'm due September sometime, not quite sure when i conceived as it was all a tad unplanned

Waiting for my dating scan and rocking between excitement and total paralyzing fear

Can't wait to tell everyone so that i can be seen in public again, i'm in hiding at the moment because i'm showing already and i drink and smoke and party like a demon usually so my bump and lack of white wine and cigarette are going to be a huge give away

You have no idea how happy i am to hear about you as im pretty much the same!!

I feel like a total recluse and have fobbed several friends off as there's is no way- none whatsoever- that they wouldnt know right away that im pregnant. I even snuck into our local w/ other half the other day and even then landlady was like "oh, is she not feeling well" when OH bought me a tonic water...!!! he muttered something about an infection but that one is not gonna fly for long.. I have my first scan the 15th Feb and since ill be 10 weeks by then i might just tell a few if not all after that... Work is a bit of a nightmare as well-again cause i cannot say anything yet but i do not seem to think of anything else my main problem at the moment as i dont feel sick is terrible goings on in bowel area i am SO bloated, constipated and if i set up sail i could probably move on my own accord. Sorry, but it is giving me a lot of grief!!

Hi Tasha,

I don't know much but i can run by you what I know so far... Im having a counselling session first (before my booking appmt) where I guess the different (test)options available to us etc. will be discussed inlcuding a dating scan where i assume they'll do the measurements to check the fluid behind the baby's head (down syndrome). I will also have my blood checked (usually done 15-18 weeks it says in the papers from the hospital, but i wouldnt be surprised if they do it earlier seeing as im 'older' -this test is something they do for every expectant mother -checking for 2 pregnancy hormones and their levels... you might already know about this.. i dont know.. anyway, depending on the outcome of these tests I will be offered amnio w/ a new test which takes only a few days for any answers. I am pretty sure you can request an amnio as well, in case you want that peace of mind.

Hopefully all will be well and i'll have nothing to worry about- God knows i worry enough already

If im given any more info i'll share it with all of you, of course I have the first appmt 15th Feb....
