While the doctor probably wont do very much other than refer you to the midwife, it is maybe a good idea to visit and get advice. The doctor will ask when your last menstrual period was so they can calculate how far along you are, and your estimated due date. It must all be a bit of a shock at the moment, but there are lots of people to turn to, and lots of support to be found on here

x

You will need to go to the doctors but you dont need to rush yourselves. Let the shock settle in and decide what you want to do first. xx

Have you had a look in the teen pregnancy part of the forum hun? There are lots of young ladies in there who will have gone through exactly what you are feeling at the moment.
Hope everything works out for you!

congratulations, the teen pregnancy forum here has been my lifeline since i found out.Im 18 and havnt told my mum yet, i had my first doctors appointment last week and he was a little awkward tbh he handed me a box of tissues when he was reading the results of my tests even though i wasnt crying.I just went in and said ive had a positive pregnancy test i need confirmation, he did the tests and told me it was a definate pregnancy. Then he said to go think things over for a few days and maybe contact a crisis pregnancy counsellor and come back then and of course to take folic acid.He also congratulated me on my recent exam results which was strange!! Id say get to the doctors as soon as you can because my doctor said the waiting list for ante natal care is quite long.Hope you and oh are well x

Congratulations hun.
Your GP will maybe do another pregnancy test just to double check, he will go through your options with you and if you have already chosen that you want to keep it he will refer you to a local midwife, your appointment will come through the post and you will also be referred to the hospital for a dating scan. I'm nearly 17 and pregnant btw. My mum found out at the same time as me, she's been really supportive. You need to sit your mum down when she's in a good mood and break it to her as nicely as possible. I think she'll know as soon as you ask her to sit down anyway lol. It'll be all good sweetie, there's nothing she can do about it now xx
