I think youŽll be all right to start buying bits and pieces now. If you start getting little things in now, then at least you can spread the cost of things a bit. IŽve got my 12 week scan on Friday, and weŽve both taken the day off work for it, and will pop into town afterwards and start having a proper look around.

Some say its tempting fate getting the pram or cot before week 24 but its your choice, I got my pram and cot last month

We haven't bought any specific baby stuff, but we've bought lots of the organizational stuff we need for cleaning out the room that will be the nursery and generally reorganizing the house for when baby comes. I've found some local people in my area who are selling maternity clothes cheap, so I'm going to look at those tonight...only 10w5d but clothes are starting to tighten up a bit!!

I'm still a little hesitant about it and can't help feeling like I'm tempting fate, but at the same time...I can't hold off forever!!

I'll put off the cot until later - there's a deal for the superstitious!...

I've got my scan Monday so will know a more definate due date, then I think I'll start buying bits and pieces. I really wish I could start sorting out a nursery but I don't even know where I'm going to be living at the time so a bit difficult. If it's too early to be buying bits, tough if it's what you want to do then just do it.

My husband and I got the idea a couple of years ago to start buying little things each month. We were seeing so many people fall pregnant and not having anything at all so we decided to get ourselves a bit organised.

I don't think it's tempting fate. Even after my m/c I still buy little things. My husband says it's my drug. I need my monthly fix of baby things or I go mad

So far we've got quite a few packets of nappies and then a few odds and ends. Nothing spectacular but at least it's a little bit less to buy later on.
