I'm Currently Feeling: | just need to vent!! So, one of the big problems I've been having recently is insomnia (despite being exhausted). I went out and bought some ear plugs in hopes that just being able to block out some of the nighttime sounds would help me sleep. It seemed to help for a while...but then, it seems like the use of the ear plugs resulted in an ear infection. In response to the pain in my ear, all the muscles in my head and neck on my left side have tensed up, and I have been in so much pain I have hardly been able to move! Everything from the top of my head, down through my ear and throat and the back of my neck are sore beyond belief! The Tylenol (which I've been told is the only safe pain reliever) didn't even make a dent in the pain. I tried massages, cold packs, heat packs, and NOTHING has worked!! I haven't been in this much pain in a LONG time.
I finally went to the doctor this morning (since this started on saturday, right after all the doctors closed for 4 days for the new year), and got a prescription. My OB says it's safe for pregnancy. The doc told me that in the next 5-7 days as the ear infection goes away the other pain will go away. Of course, that still means I have to deal with this pain for the next week!!
anyway...just needed to vent.
It's SOOO frustrating having to deal with this, and there not being anything I can do that works! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have CRONIC Migraine and even though you can not take anything on a constant basis things can be taken in moderation as i was told this morning from my Dr's visit im seeing a high risk specialist and and thrilled with him , He has made sure i can have my sleeping meds Ambien AND has given me a script for Vicodin 5/325mg ( has tylenol in it ) for my migraine and my Crohns disease he has only given me 20 pills to last the pregnancy but had told me to choose when its needed So sometime you have to deal with the pain yes but if you are hurting as much as you are describing I'd call him back or go to the hospital. My Dr told me today no one should suffer or over take anything but to live in pain is not good for the baby either.I also have a friend with Kidney stones pregnant and her Dr put her on pain medicine too.
Just My opinon

I'm Currently Feeling: | oh i feel for you!!Get well soon.
I am also finding myself awake at 5am listening to and being bugged by the little sounds that never used to bother me...like little beeps in the kitchen 2 floors down the house!!!!!
I guess I should avoid resorting to earplugs then. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | yeah...not more ear plugs for me...my biggest annoyance is when I'm lying awake and the dog decides it's time for a bath...all I can hear is *slurp slurp slurp* It makes it difficult to fall back asleep!!
Fortunately, the tylenol seems to be helping more, which is making me think that in just 24 hours, the antibiotics are starting to work. Which is making me SOO happy! I stayed home from work today due to the pain, but based on apparent improvement, I think I might even be able to go back tomorrow. And I"m also happy because at 10 weeks, I'm *finally* starting to notice a reduction in the nausea, insmonia, weird appetite issues that have been bothering me recently...guess it's *almost* time for second trimester :-) | | | | Status: Offline
