Diagnosed with Swine Flu today

As the title says, i have been diagnosed with Swine Flu today.

I am a bit of a silent member of this forum, but wanted to share my symptoms and treatment as i thought it was just down to being pregnant and feeling run down....

I felt really ill over the weekend, spent quite alot of time in bed, absolutely freezing but temp only got to 37.5.
My arms and legs wouldn't work properly, they felt too heavy for me. Sore throat, cough in the mornings/evenings, ok during the day. Headaches, exhaustion, nausea, and generally feeling really run down.
I felt it was all symptoms of me being 37 and pregnant!
Contacted the Midwife this morning to get checked out as i was having a few pains on my left side, and she said that as i had flu symptoms, i had to call my GP and they would help me out.
Called my GP's, spoke to reception and relayed everything to them and they said they would get the doctor to call me after 11am.
Have spoken to the doctor who confirmed that it was swine flu and said that if i had called on saturday, they would have given me anti virals....as it is, i am feeling better today (though not right) and it is day 3 of my symptoms and anti virals wouldn't do any good. Keep taking paracetomol and rest and stay off work for 7 days!

Now i feel really tearful... hormones i guess...

You poor thing! You sound like you're on your way to recovery, lots of rest and fluids.
Can't be fun to have those symptoms on top of pg symptoms!
Hope you're back to feeling 100% soon x

Hugs!
Looks like it is getting over, just take loads of rest and drink fluids along with some vitamins.. fruits etc.. you will be fine! you didn't have a high fever and that is a good sign, as the fever can do damage to the baby.

Thankyou....

Your all so kind i'm all tearful again....

Have called work and let them know i won't be in for the week. Have asked him not to say to anyone else... we live in such a small place, finger pointing and whispering behind hands, couldn't cope with that as well at the moment.
Will just tell the ones who need to know and who i can trust not to gossip too much....

Am over-emotional, all over the place! The OH is now coming home so he can collect our 2 from school later, and will then work from home for the week...

Guess i shouldn't be a silent forum member and should come out more and talk.

Thanks again guys. xx
