Retail Therapy for Disbelievers

Hi girls. I am one of those very new to pregnancy who are still recovering from the shock and don't feel preggars.

I have not ventured to buy a single thing and thought I'd try and be sensible and wait until I'm at least in my second tri. But I was wondering if anyone has allowed themselves a little shopping splurge to "get into the spirit" and make it all seem real?

Come on, own up!

I don't think I'll buy anything until I'm well into the second trimester. I'm still terrified something will go wrong and I don't want to have bought anything incase that happens. Not sure if that's just me or not!

We are a cautious lot! I'm the same. Also, as I don't feel pregnant or a connection I'd have no idea what to get! but I'd worry about jinxing it or getting ahead of myself.

Thought I'd ask as I remember girls in the TTC forum buying stuff before they even got the BFP!

Still, it's fun looking through catalogues and going "what on earth is that for"???

I bought some maternity jeans as they were half price in the sale but won't wear and have kept the packaging until after my scan tomorrow.

La Redoute has quite a few maternity items on sale - in case anyone is interested

I'm not buying anything yet. I'm a little bit obsessive about environment/waste so I plan to buy just the necessary stuff (plus the occasional "omg this is too cute!" impulse ofc, I'm human after all). I also know that people tend to buy you tons of stuff you don't really need...

Hi

I have started getting more invested in this whole pg thing this week and it is a bit wierd I have been trying to... distance my self is not the right phrase but you know what I mean I have been trying to keep perspective incase things go wrong I really can wait until my scan, I am getting bigger and I have felt quite poo (better this week most of the time just getting the odd twinge and nausea to remind me all is ok.

I am superstitious too and dont want to buy anything yet not even a maternity pillow as I am scared to be left behind with it but I have looked at stuff this week.

I told my Boss on tuesday and my friend lectured me this morning as I was not in the safe zone yet, gee thanks, but I had to tell him sometime and let face it if the scan is a tragedy then I will need the time off anyway.

So long and short of it no sorry to rant. I was just meaning to tell you you will get into it more around 10 weeks
