Vitamins make you sick?

I've been one of the lucky ones so far -- no morning sickness, feeling great generally, wish the entire pregnancy were so easy. One hiccup though -- whenever I take my multivitamin, I feel incredibly nauseous for like half an hour. I've tried everything (taking with food, tons of food, lots of drink, etc) but not working. I'm taking over-the counter CVS pharmacy multivitamins, the prescription ones were even worse. Anyone have any ideas here?

Have you considered taking it (with something light to eat) just before bed. Or does the nausea hit to quickly to give you a chance to fall asleep?

I take mine before bed so I can fall asleep and avoid feeling anything!

I second hollyjadebear, I've been feeling queasy for the last couple of weeks so I just take it right before bed with some water and crackers so that I can sleep through any nausea...so far it's worked as I'm utterly knackered by the time I go to bed and usually out like a light!

good luck, sorry you're having some issues- the nausea is hard to deal with

I also take mine at night, just before bed.

I had this with my first - I think it was the iron (I must have read that somewhere) I just stopped taking it but I guess taking it before bed would have been a much better idea!

Great ideas, I'll definitely try. Nausea does hit really soon -- like 10 minutes. I hope I can fall asleep that fast.

Due to vomiting I didn't take a multivitamin from six weeks-20 weeks, after that I could eat again so took it, I read it's not so important after six weeks because the spine is formed already.
