New here and newly pregnant

I am 5 weeks pregnant and just got my bfp today. I just *knew* and here I am.

I have been feeling slight nausea etc up till today, but today I have really started to feel sick.. I have been very nauseated all day but not throwing up. I also feel HOT, is that normal? I just feel warmer than usual... its weird.
I also have a headache.. and I just feel like eating cheese! Usually I love chocolates and when I went to buy preg tests today I wanted to find something to buy with them and walked into the candy isle and felt repulsed!
I feel so flu-ish. Do any of you feel this way? I also have some mild cramping which I've had since around the day I expected my AF that never came!

I am so new to this I don't even know if I can take advil or tylenol.. lol. What do you guys do to feel better I feel so retched!!

Blah forget to mention I am also dizzy on and off and my acid reflux seems worse and I am not taking my medication as I don't know if its safe to take when pregnant yet. Argg!

Hi.

Congratulations on your BFP!! Umm, I think some people say they feel like they have a cold or flu when first pregnant. Cramps are normal all the way through as you grow.

You shouldn't be taking advil but tylenol is safe to take and most indigestion remedies are safe. They should say if they're not on the packet. Most people say that for morning sickness you need to eat little and often. Eating actually normally makes you feel a bit better but avoid anything with a strong taste or smell because it could make you feel worse. Eating also helps with the dizziness. I had that quite bad too early on.

I hope you have a happy, healthy 9 months!!

Hiya

Welcome to B&B.

I've not much appetite for food at all, which is quite unlike me especially at Christmas with so much lovely food around. I've had and still got really really sore boobs and I'm really tired but cant seem to sleep (thats probably excitement though).

I'm sure your symptoms are normal signs of being PG, but I still hope you feel better soon huni, if not pop and see the doc and see what they can suggest.

!
That's exactly how I feel! My nose is runnier, my inner thermometer is off, I'm tired, foods I used to like I hate now, and I get these weird aches and pains.

Congrats!

You sound like me...cheese is one of the few things that has been sitting really well with me since becoming pregnant...that, and vanilla ice cream. And I normally have a really bad sweet tooth, but haven't really been able to handle sweets. Pregnancy really throws off your appetite!

I've found that Sea Bands (which can be found in the drug store near the dramamine) has helped with my nausea. They are acupressure wristbands that work by putting pressure at the right point to block the nausea signals from getting to your brain...I've also found that eating an orange or sipping orange juice settles my stomach as well...Finally, I've started breaking my prenatal vitamin in half and taking 1/2 after breakfast and 1/2 after dinner. That's made a HUGE difference in how nauseaus I feel. Everyone is different but I hope you can find some relief for the nausea! It's awful to feel so sick all the time!
