got a frosty reception........

i phoned in sick this morning......cannot go to work. i still have a bit of a sore throat and felt really sick when i work up. i only work on part time on wed and thurs and all day friday so have been off since wed.

phoned in and spoke to one my colleagues, she was really frosty. i am planning on going back next week if i am better. never asked how i was or anything. they don't know i am pregnant yet anyway but still, she was FROSTY for such a gorgeous morning.

i am thinking of stopping work anyway. i hate leaving Ali in the nursery. i miss him a lot too.

oh the joys. fed up now!!!! dreading going in next week.

You know, I used to work for companies who would be like this, almost making you feel bad for phoning in. The company I'm with now is great, they advise you seek medical treatment asap, and only want you back at work when you are ready. Companies have procedures to follow, and being like this on the phone to a co-worker isn't acceptable! Enjoy your time off, and get a well earned rest! x x x

thanks for your replies ladies. much appreciated.

Ali is at nursery this morning just so i can have a rest (hubby insisted) and to be honest i am feeling so much better already. i do so much plus i am riddled with morning sickness. Ali goes to bed at around 9pm and gets up at 7am and doesn't nap much so it is all go with him so no wonder i am knackered and run down. i am hardly eating and have lost tons of weight.

i am not bothered by work tbh, i will go in wed, let them know i am pregnant. i am sure they will be fine. i have a really nice manager (she has kids herself).

My dr said to me when I got my 3rd sick note on Wed, don't worry about work, you have a genuine reason for being off and believe me, loads more people take time off work for far less than what you're going through. Reassured me
