Hi girls,

Am back from the scan. None the wiser really. They couldnt see anything but my cervix is closed and the lining of my womb thicker than would be expected if I had just had a m/c, so there a few things they say could be happening;

1) I am having a m/c now.

2) The pregnancy is failing but not yet a m/c

3) I am too early on for it to be seen

4) It is an ectopic pregnancy.


I have had bloods today, they will ring me with the results later. If HCG is less than 10 then we will know it was a m/c, if the HCG is above 10 then the bloods will be repeated on Friday if they double it is likely the pregnancy will continue, if the rate falls then it is a failing pregnancy/miscarriage, if it stays about the same this would suggest ectopic and further tests/investigation work will have to take place.

The woman also said if this pregnancy fails and another I will need a referral for the recurrent m/c clinic bit sad that it would have to be 5 m/c and a stillbirth for this to happen.

Any way for now I have a little hope. I will let you know the results when I do.
