First scan pictures - free?

Just got my letter confirming my first scan date (this Friday) with NHS.
The letter says you have to buy a token (£3) if you want a picture of the baby!! God knows what you do with the token then!! My mum says maybe it is like a photo machine you use when you want a passport photo!!! They say you have to have the right change in pound coins and buy a token in the waiting area.

I thought this was very cheeky of them, but I guess it's the NHS! Shall I buy two? Or will one get me several pictures?

They said the same in our hospital- £5 per photo in pound coins. When we got there the machine was broken so the midwife printed off our photos. She couldn't decide which one was best so she gave us two for £5!

Mine is the whole token thing too (different from when I had my son!) £3 per token that gets you one photo. I know it costs them to print them but not £3 each, tis called taking advantage because how many people could bear to come away without a scan photo of baby???
