| Hi from what i hear its ok as long as it does not cause you to faint or be ill, and its quite common in the early days . if your concerned give them a ring and ask them thats what they are there for after all, but im sure if she was worried she would have said . make sure you drink enough cos this can be a cause .i bought one of those bp machines from lloyds chemist as they are only £10 and now i keep an eye on my own bp cos last time i got pre-eclampsia and it went sky high and was only found by luck and a great mw .

| Hi
No, you should be fine.
I had my BP taken - at the MW appointment on Tuesday - and mine has dropped to 90/60 (so a little higher than yours). She was a bit surprised (thought her gauge might have been faulty to begin with ), but said it was very common to drop during pregnancy (I am normally on the lower end of normal anyway).
Just be careful and look after yourself - dizziness and fainting are the worst problems... Don't rush to get up (from sitting or from bed), you would be avoiding hot baths anyway, keep your fluids up, try to keep cool (since hot weather can make you more dizzy/faint anyway) and - if in doubt - sit down for a rest. Lower blood pressure can contribute to tiredness. If you still exercise, then be careful there - nothing to really worry about, but blood pressure may drop a little further after exercise.
So take care and listen to your body (especially in this hot weather)

| Hi there,
Personally, I always have a low BP - usually 90/60 - its actually gone up since I got pregnant... but originally, I was told just to take it easy and don't try and get up too fast from a sitting position - as I will feel dizzy. If you drink plenty of fluids as well, this will help you increase your BP.
Hope that helps and you're feeling ok,
Purple

| Mine has always been on the low side, ~105/70, but since becoming pregnant, it has gone down more by every appt.! My last one at 12+6, my BP was 90/50, and I asked the doc if that's a problem and she said "no, it's fine". But she did say to be sure you drink enough fluids, and as others have said, I am lightheaded frequently, especially if I rise too quickly. I think you should be ok, I haven't read anything about it having an adverse effect on the baby or anything. | | | | Status: Offline

| Hi - I normally have really low BP - usually between 80-90 over 50-60. They were worried it would go lower during pg, but it hasn't at all. Just watch the getting up too fast from seated or leaning over/standing up fast. And get up from lying down position in stages. Also make sure you drink lots!!!!!!! Dehydration can make it worse!!! | | | | Status: Offline

| Hi. I saw my widwife on Friday and she told me I had low blood pressure, but that is perfectly normal in pregnancy. She just basically gave the same advice as QTPie - don't rush about and take it easy, especially in this weather. xxx | | | | Status: Online

| I had really low BP all the way through my first pregnancy - in fact at my last appointment before I had her my mw said she was suprised I was still breathing it was that low!!! Its much much better to be low than high, there are all sorts of rhings that can happen with high blood pressure but with low BP as long as you dont start feeling faint its generally ok xx | | | | Status: Offline
