I worked at McDonalds for 3 years and I can say all the machines and equipment were stripped down piece by piece every single day and thoroughly cleaned. infact I've never cleaned so much in my entire life as when I worked there. we used to shut at 12pm and work until 6 am cleaning and that went on every single night of of the year.
I've worked in a number of food outlets and McDonalds is the one i trust most.
hope this helps hun :-)
i'm a personal fan of big Macs with extra pickles on at the moment. xxxxxxx

got bored of working there LOL so went to work at Subway for two years after that hehe

I ate McFlurries and was fine, they do use pasteurized products only, but it's up to you whether or not you feel comfortable having them.

lol we had to take the nozzles off everynight lol

If you thought too much about it, you'd never eat anything!

Otherthan worry for gaining weight, I wouldn't worry. Eat in mod as per usual x

I only know the mayonnaise isnt pasturised as my mums OH is health and saftey manager at McDonalds and I asked him particularly in my pregnancy with Alex. I never ate it in pregnancy but that was personal decision and I wouldnt eat any mayo unless I can actually read for myself that it is pasturised but thats just me, I worry too much, even more with this pregnancy after losing my son!! xx

Personally I cant eat ice-cream, but I was talking to another (very pregnant) woman whilst treating myself (getting my nails painted!)..... anyway she was joking with everyone that if she didnt get her mcflurry when she needed it, she would drive to up to 3 different restaurants to get her 'fix'

In the US, its illegal for milk products to be sold unpasteurized. Also, the machines that the ice cream is made in HAS to be kept at the cold setting that is required by the FDA for food-safe handling.

Its going to be a personal thing for you, but the restaurant has national food handling guidelines that they have to follow, so that is one thing I wouldn't personal worry about. I can't have the milk and sugar, personally (hypoglycemic) but I can imagine that in the heat of summer that would be mighty tasty! *G

My mother was a restaurant manager for 28 years. The health department and FDA rules they have to follow are _very_ stringent. Chain places such as McDonalds put a very high priority on cleanliness and maintaining their equipment.
