Scan tomorrow - empty belly panic syndrome has begun, anyone else?! *UPDATE WITH PIC*

We have our first scan tomorrow at 13 weeks and for some crazy reason I am really worried they will just find an empty space!! Has any one else suffered these crazy fears?

I also had a dream last night that it was some sort of baby elephant but I think that is because of the advert on TV and so it is not quite so high on the panic radar!!

Also my OH is a 'just in time' kinda guy so I am also panicking about not finding a parking space at the hospital in time and missing the scan altogether!!

Basically I am panicing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If only there was a non-alchoholic gin and tonic that had the same calming effect!

I was really worried too. Thought that maybe i'd made a mistake and wasn't pregnant at all. Even considered taking another pregnancy test before going just to be sure lol

Just relax and enjoy it tomorrow...it's amazing!!!
Good luck

I do know what you mean: at both my early scan (7.5 weeks) and my emergency scan (yesterday), I did say a prayer as they looked for the baby... it is only human. BUT once you see that baby and little heart beat...

Try and relax... (easier said than done, I know! ).

Make sure that your OH takes you to the hospital nice and early and, if it makes you feel better, get him to drop you off then go find somewhere to park. All gives you less to stress about...

With pregnancy lots of things COULD go wrong, but the chances of ANY of them happening to YOU are tiny, tiny, tiny . So, why spend your pregnancy stressing? Try - as much as possible - to relax and enjoy it

(and, my theory is that a stressy pregnancy probably equals a stressy baby... and who wants a stressy baby, especially at 3am? ).

Hope it all goes very well for you tomorrow

QT

Oh i was exactly the same! i went for a scan at 12 weeks and i was

conviced they would tell me that there was nothing there! even tho i had

crap morning sickness, and had a big enough bump! and all my other

symptons!

but in the end everything was just perfect, and i nearly cried with relief!

relax and enjoy every minute of it! good luck

We went for my scan yesterday and like your OH my DH is like that with time, we arrived at the hospital with 10 mins to spare and as there is a new maternity block which has just been nuilt we couldn't find it, when we did we had to try and find somewhere to park, which was a far from the maternity block as possible! WE made it to the scan with five mins to spare and i got seen early. I was expecting 5 mins to sit down to and prepare myself incase of the worst! However as soon as i sat down they called my name and we were in a out clutching our baby photo! :-) Its defiately not unusual to worry i'm sure it'll be fine, good luck x

I'll probably feel the same when I finally get round to having my scan, but try not to worry. My hubby sounds like your OH with timekeeping, I'm planning to tell him that the appointment is 15 mins earlier than it really is, then we might get there on time! Good luck honey! xx
