Getting pregnant on the pill...

A friend of mine has just got back from her honeymoon and whilst away she had to take anti biotics for an ear infection! She had a period 2 weeks before her wedding approx 23rd may then started a new packet of pills on 13th june whilst she was away and didn't have a break, she then took anti biotics for 3 days, tues, wed and thurs (16th, 17th & 18th!) She has since realised that anti biotics interfer with the pill, anyone know the likelihood of pregnancy or when would be the best time to test? I keep getting muddled up! :-) x

Am I reading it right that there were 3 weeks between pill packets as well?

If so it really increases the chances of getting pregnant.

Antibiotics on their own can affect it but I think it's only a couple of brands that actually have any effect in reality.

Best time to test is whenever she was / will be due her period, about a week and a half I reckon.

She can always test sooner but you can't trust the result if negative before the period date.

not sure hunny but i managed it, and here i am 10 weeks later. And that was just the pill, i didn't even touch anti biotics!! so it can happen

Likewise...I was on the pill at the time of falling of pregnant too.
