AAARGH!!My doctors surgery is driving me mental!

I am angry.
So,I called my midwife yesterday and told her about how bad my sickness is and that I cant even keep any water down and I've lost about 9lbs now.And how I'm not even really managing to leave the house because Ive been feeling so crappy.Plus at my scan the sonographer said my bladder looked like I'd just been to the toilet when infact I'd been trying for hours to keep some water down, thats how dehydrated my body is getting.
So my midwife said to me 'You need to be seen by the doctor TODAY'.So I call my doctors surgery and the receptionist said there was no doctor available, not even for emergency appointments and to call back this morning.
I just called, explained the situation and said I needed to be seen today and the receptionist said 'no theres no emergency appointments today,I can book something for Friday' FRIDAY?!?How is it an emergency appointment if its not for 3 days?
So I said no, I needed to be seen today and after putting me on hold for ages the receptionist said I can go down there at 11 after the doctor finishes his regular appointments and wait but theres no guarantee I'll be seen.WTF?!?So I have to haul me and Ophelia down to sit in the waiting room when I feel like crap anyway and theres no guarantee anyone is going to see me?greeeeat.

If you cant keep water down, your midwife will just tell you you need to see your GP anyway.Or atleast thats what mine did...

I hope you get seen, hun. It's awful that they don't seem to realise how much this affects us and unless you get seen by a dr you are in danger of becoming dehydrated.

Big to all.

if i was you i would of personally asked to speak to the GP. I work in a GP surgery and and if someone phones us and says its an emergency or they need to be seen today then we will fit them in where appropriate (especially young children the elderly or pregnant woman) most of the time they are normally told to come down at the end of the surgery 10 mins after last appointments and they will be seen then, all be it they might have to wait until the doctor's last patient is gone which could be 10-30 mins at end of surgery time. No way should she have said come down and wait but you might not be seen that's just bullshit, to me she just sounds like a typical doctors receptionist that is stuck in her ways, so my advice is don't even tell her next time what is wrong, just explain it is between you and the doctor and if there is no appointments you want the doctor to phone you back so you can be fitted in! i hate receptionist like that xxx
