I wanted to use the birthing pool with baby number one but after a trouble free pregnancy my waters broke at 37 wks and due to a high bp i was induced, strapped to a bed and gave birth 6 hours later with gas & air and a shot of pethadine, i did not move from the bed at all, not the birth i had planned! However is was necessary for mine & babys safty and baby was delivered after a panic with a ventouse! Having had an episiotamy and stiches i would love a water birth this time round but am making no definate plans! Childbirth is definately something you cannot control!!
