How can I get an early scan?

I am only 6 weeks pregnant and see my midwife for my first appointment in 1 hour. Since finding out I am pregnant all I have done is worry constantly and I am really stressing myself out.
It has taken me 2 years and 3 months to fall pregnant and 2 month of taking clomid the fertility treatment.
All I can think about is if this baby is ok, and what will happen.
Do you think I will be able to somehow get an early scan? And if so how do I ask for it without sounding really stupid?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Jane and bump x

If it wasn't for the fact that you are on Clomid, I would play the "I have no idea how far along I am" card. Say you can't remember when your last AF was, and they MAY send you for a quick dating scan.

Or, say that your last AF was only a couple of days and just spotting, maybe implantation?

If you're desperated for a scan, you could pay private?

I told the doctor when my last af was, so he would of put it in my notes won't he? I have looked for private scan and cannot find anywhere in my area. I always though if you had been on Clomid you would get an earlier scan anyway, but I guess not.
I'm just sick of all this worrying I want to enjoy being pregnant x

I think they'll only give you a scan if you have cramps or bleeding. Might be worth telling a little white lie if you're THAT worried? I wouldn't want to jinx it though

If you've had cramps play on them. Make sure you tell her how worried you are. I think your doctor should've sent you to have a scan for ectopic if you're in pain. They did with me

The doctor did an internal check and said it all ''feels'' normal and not eptopic. So also going to ask midwife if he should of even done internal like that, as a few people have mentioned doctors are not allowed to that early on! And that you also cannot tell if eptopic by simply ''feeling'' x

If there is is no cause for concern, then I doubt very much they will scan you......it all boils down to money hun, so if you are not in need, they will not spend it. As has already been said, you could always pay and have a private one. x

I really feel for you it is just so stressful not knowing. You might be better waiting a bit longer to get scanned as I had a scan at 5 wks & 6wks (I was bleeding every few days) & there was nothing there to see then I had another scan last week (7 weeks exactly) & finally there a heartbeat!...I know how hard it is waiting but try to stay positive. Sending you lots of ...Elle xx

I was unsure of my dates so they have put me in for a dating scan, but i will still be 12 weeks when i get this done, so not quick really, but otherwise i would have had to wait until i was eighteen/twenty weeks
