People are guessing at work...should I come clean on the last day of classes?

I had three individual teachers either congratulate me or ask if I was pregnant today. Clearly I am not dressing well enough to hide my 9-week bump (see my recent post in the Bumps forum: Your Bumps

So now my whole science department knows (oh I'm a high school teacher, by the way) along with a special needs assistant and the cafeteria lady. I really wish I could tell my students, especially since I think some of them suspect too, but I'll only 9 weeks, 6 days on the last day of classes. It still seems too early to tell, but if I don't tell them, they won't know until they see me with a bump in September (or never as some are graduating this year).

Any advice?

Wow !
Those are some scrutinizing students!! I didn't congratulate an old co-worker of mine until is was SOOOOOOO obvious - maybe 2-3x the size of your bump LOL. Making me worry that some of my current co-workers are suspecting something - eek! I hope not!
I don't think it is too early to tell either - I told friends/fam at 10.5w (less a week later). I'm not telling work for other reasons though - hopefully not until 4-5 months. I'm sure the students will be SOOO excited for you!

UPDATE: I was looking at the older pics of you - the new ones you posted look alot like bump!!!
Looks great!

If you're happy for them to know then go for it, there is no "right" time to tell.
At least if you tell them now, you get to tell them, if you wait until September word might have got round during the holidays.

I work in a secondary school and luckily not showing yet at 13 weeks, although I have ahad a couple kids ask me if I'm pg over the course of the year as I have always had a bit of flab! LOL.

MY colleagues now know - I told them after my scan last week.

As for the kids I'll be nearly 20 weeks by the Summer holidays so I'm sure I'll start showing by the and the cat will be out of the bag with the students.

I'll end up telling my year 11's who have left now but I'll see most of them at the year 11 prom the end of this month.

I dont want to make a big deal of it with students until I have to...it'll waste so much time - all the questions!!

I'd wanted to wait until my first scan but once people started guessing I didn't feel happy lying. Mine was more to do with feeling so sick and struggling to eat anything at lunch time... they know my love of food too well!

Thanks for all the advice. I happened to read a post yesterday where someone mentioned that they miscarried at 10 weeks and it sobered me up a bit. I really would love to share the news before school ends, but what if something goes wrong? That's a lot of extra people to share bad news with.

This happened to me too lol
Peope in work asked me on Sunday if I was expecting, I was 13wks on the dot
Certainly got quite a bump now but I thought I hid it quite well in my work uniform as its quite baggy, but according to OH its still noticable
But still, I would never dare ask someone unless it was really noticable, as in like a 20wk bump at the earliest! Especially when they were fairly young like me. I should have said no and burst into tears

Anyway, do what feels right for you. For us, we were going to tell work people much earlier, but ended not getting round to it because OH hasnt had a chance to tell his friends yet and he doesnt want them finding out from someone else, but since they all know now we'll see how long that lasts. We decided that if something was to happen, that we would rather people knew what we were going through, and get their support, than have to pretend everythings ok or hide why we're upset. But of course it might be different in terms of your students. You just need to figure out whether its more important to you that they know tha you're preg, or that they didn't know if something were to happen.

Whatever you decide to do just make sure you're happy x
