It coz the baby is a few degrees hotter than you are so if you get too hot, then the baby can over heat.

I was wondering about this and, at a slight tangent, hot water bottles...?

I have been having quite irritating "stretching pains" "down there" recently... I am not worried about MC (since I don't think it is "that" type of cramp), BUT it was annoying and far too frequent yesterday... was wondering if I could use a hote water bottle to sooth it (like you might with period cramps) or whether I would be likely to bake the little one...

QT

I asked the MW as I love hot baths and basically the same as Noodles said. It can causes the baby to over heat which isnt good.

I had a bath on Saturday night and had it as hot as I dare go and it was lovely, 1st one for 12 weeks.

I read/heard that you shouldn't take baths so I took it literally and didn't until my 9th month - but kept bump out of the water.

Baths rule (sorry, that was my thread from yesterday, I'm obsessed with them!). My tip is, as long as the water isn't too hot as to turn your skin oink, then you should be fine. If it feels uncomfortable for you, it might feel uncomfortable for the bean too.

Right, I'm off for a bath! lol
