I'm Currently Feeling: | i have a dilema... I have a dilema on my hands! I think I am about 8-9 weeks pregnant and currently living on Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan with my husband! Well, I am not actually on his orders or command sponsored yet and have 5-6 weeks before I HAVE to go home (on a traveler passport you can stay in Japan for only 90 days and I've been here for over 6 weeks already). I don't know if I should come home in the next couple weeks so I can see a doctor at home or if I should wait and see how much longer it will take for me to get on his orders. Mind you, I can't use the medical facilities here until I am on his paperwork! So, we either fork out some money and I go home for awhile until everything here is taken care of (once everything is taken care of I can come back on military $), or I risk waiting weeks without being able to see a doctor and maybe cutting it close to getting "kicked off" the country! I don't know if it'd be safe/wise/healthy to knowingly put off seeing a doctor. Any opinions? They'd be greatly appreciated! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Wannabemommy!!!
Please Please, don't post such personal information about yourself on the net....or on a forum ever. Hope you get it sorted - but immediately I thought this was a red flag post.
I would advise you to delete it ....... ....just my two cents |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I didn't think I put anything too personal, there are thousands of people on this base...I think I have decided to go home for a couple months and let my husband take care of paperwork and such things here for now. It is much easier for me to see a doc back home. I could get an appointment the day I get home if I needed (and I kinda do). I agree with Tinytoes in that you can't put a price on health and I think I just needed to hear/read it from someone else...we unfortunately don't have any connections here. I would feel like a bad parent already if I know I need to see a doctor and am able to back home but don't. Does that make sense? lol
Well, thanks for the replies! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | yes, that's the hardest part about it because he'll be alone for the holidays while i get to be with my and his family. i feel terrible about that, but i have to do what's in the best interest of the baby and right now that's seeing a doctor which i can't do here. he's being understanding about it though thank goodness. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | oh well best of luck. these first months are harder than i ever expected so at least you'll have your family. and your baby and bump pals!!
and hopefully you'll be back together when the sh*tty bit is over and you'll be a happier person for him to be around too! Could work out well. |
