4 1/2 weeks and showing

Hi everyone.

I recall another member on about when the "bigger" woman starts showing and thought I'd share a little.

Although we are all different, I am a size 16/18 (uk) and I had to go out and buy some maternity trousers because I just couldn't faster my others up. I'm 4 weeks 5 days now. I know it's not just weight gain because I was heavier about 2 months ago and still fit in these jeans so it's deffo my tum.

However, I was on fertility treatment and have the chance of multiples so whether that is the reason I'm not to know for a further few weeks until I have my scan.

Has anyone else had to buy maternity clothes so early?

Thats reassuring then...I don't think I need tops yet as all my tops are rather big since a lost a stone in weight before I got pregnant.

I am a size 16 uk and have had 3 children. My jeans felt uncomfortable at 8 weeks. Midwife said it was bloating, slack muscles from previous pregnancies and being overweight. She then gave me a lesson on the uterus still being under the pubic bone and the fetus being the size of a strawberry!!!!!! THanks for that!!! Believe she has now retired. No harm in wearing maternity clothes early, I find them very comfy.

I really looked like I was showing a couple of weeks ago but now I'm going (we think!) into 2nd trimester, I'm back fitting perfectly into my jeans again. I don't feel as pregnant which is a shame but it's funny because when I lie down on my tummy I feel like I have a book in my tummy. It's so uncomfortable! I don't think I'm going to have to get maternity clothes for quite a while...my Mum just got away with buying clothes in a bigger size but I proper want some of those jeans with the comfy stretchy band.... mmm.

Red face

Slim and only 6weeks, 5 days - trousers feeling tight!

Hi everyone,
Well I'm a size 8-10 just by having lucky genes so I've always enjoyed being petite (5ft 2) and never above 8½ stone. I'm approaching 7 weeks and yesterday whilst yawning my way round the shops I found myself pulling my jeans away from my lower abdomen as they were so uncomfortable. I can still fasten them up with no problem, but they are tight when I bend or just wear them for too long. I can't wait to show! I think it'll be a while before I need maternity clothes but my tummy is definitely rounder. I can tell as it's always been so flat. I don't really care what is causing it as the baby is still so small, it just helps me to start to feel something external - other than feeling internally exhausted and queasy!

Well this will be my first. I think most probably is boating but I know it certainly kicked me out of my normal trousers. My tops are fine so I can't see me needing them for some time.

Wink

Rachiepachie .... Think that miserable midwife may have forgotton how exciting it is when you find out you are pregnant. You look for any sign that it is not in your imagination!. I wore my maternity trousers after my c-section for several weeks afterwards. Hope you enjoy your pregnancy, its quite an adventure
