My first Dr appt is tomorrow :)

I am about 7 weeks along and I'm wondering if all doctors do a sonogram at the first visit? I don't want to get my hopes up in case I don't get the opportunity to have one!

So, I guess my question is... did you get to have one done when you went for your first visit?

In the UK you do not get a scan until 12 weeks, usually at your first appointment is to have a chat and get the ball rolling with your appointments, they may well do urine samples and blood tests. Hope all goes well xx

I think it's different in the US as you're all private medical care. In the UK we have the NHS which is great because (in theory) everyone gets the same regardless of earnings, but the downside is they have limited resources so only do 2 scans for the whole pregnancy unless you have/have had problems.
I don't want to get your hopes up in case you don't but it's possible I guess....

I had first docs appoint today - think i bout 6weeks along he didn't do test or anything just took details so can write to hospital to do booking appointment etc but like others say that normal over here - hope goes well x

In my experience, they did a scan. But I'm 8 weeks gone.

I hope they give you a scan for your piece of mind.

My Dr. Office said that they typically do scans between 8 and 12 weeks.
