Should I stop taking my B50 complex?

Hi Ladies

I am new to this site but was wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I am 5wks and 1day pregnant

I have been taking a vitamin B50 complex whilst ttc to lengthen my luteal phase. I had a 10 day lp whilst ttc dd#1 and dd#2 and stopped taking it as soon as I got my BFP. This time my luteal phase has been 13 days but I was taking anyway as it seemed to help me get my BFP before.

The reason I am unsure whether to stop it this time around is because I had a chemical 2mths ago which ended at 4wks 4days, 2 days after I stopped taking the B50 complex. I am sure it was just a coincidence but it has got me worried.

I wouldn't be worried but it says on the packet do not take whilst pregnant!! does anyone know why that might be? Will it be safe to stop right now?

Thanks for any advice you can give me. I look forward to joining you ladies on this journey and congrats to you all on your .

I'd like to know the answer to this too as I have continued to take it. I figured well it's contained in multi vits like pregnacare so it must be ok? I used to suffer from a shorter than ideal lp, which is why I started taking it in the first place.

Hi

Poshie congrats on your BFP.

I think it's the high dosage that's the problem! Today it the first day I haven't taken it but I am taking my pregnancy vitamins.
Anyone else have any idea?

I asked my doctor after I got my BFP and she said the B50s are fine to continue taking throughout pregnancy! If you were taking 100s you'd want to cut down to the 50s. Since your bottle says not to take during pregnancy, you may want to swap brands in case your current one has something additional added in?

I understand your fear. Rational or not, on my first cycle on the B50s I went from an 8 day luteal phase to a BFP so I was afraid that if I stopped them I'd get my period.

B6 is also recommended to help ease the symptoms of morning sickness!

Poshie, the 50 refers to how many mgs of the B6 and B12 vits are in each dose.

HI

Thanks Amerikiwi and congrats to you. I am going to the doctors on Wednesday so I will ask him what he thinks. I have checked on the net and it says consult your doctor first if pregnant so they might be ok. I will probably go and check out another brand tomorrow though to be on the safe side.

Thanks again and here's hoping it keeps away morning sickenss as I got it bad last time

Take care
Beth

Did anyone find out the answer to this?

Have been weaning myself off B-50 gradually as my tablets say not to take when pregnant. They are Holland & Barrett. Don't want to stop taking them suddenly as that might be a bad idea.

I take the same - Holland & Barrat B50 complex. I mentioned this to my gp when I saw him the other day and said I was taking them and he said fine. As someone said, can help with morning sickness and am sure read somewhere that b vits are good in pg?? I take pregnacare too and there's 10mg of b6 in them.
