I made the mistake of googling what the chance of miscarriage is at 7 weeks (10%? 5%? 3%?) and ended up reading a thread where women described all their miscarriages and what weeks they occurred on. I couldn't stop reading it. It was like driving past an accident on the freeway.

Now I have been pretty calm about everything since I got my BFP. I am working with the theory that a positive mental attitude really does make a difference. But last night I got upset, because I thought I was doing pretty good at 7 weeks with no complications, blood or unusual symptoms. We've told family that we're expecting, I'm mentally decorating the baby room - I've emotionally committed to assuming that this baby will be born.

Then I read about piles of 8 week and 9 weeks miscarriages - like alot! And 11 week and 13 week miscarriages and women whose babies dies at 9 weeks but didn't find out till 15 weeks. These are the things that pregnancy nightmares are made of! I wish I never read any of it!

I also read some scientific reasons for the huge number of m/c at 8/9 weeks and that is because that is a stage in development where chromosomal errors are likely to be recognized.

Sorry about the rant! Not even my thread...sorry.

A very sensible warning, especially to people who may have just come into first trimester. I have scared myself silly with Google!! And that is despite knowing I should avoid at all costs!

It's all depndent on the baby having a heartbeat hun as if it has one at 7 weeks your chance of miscarrying is down to 5%
