Feeling so unsexy - long sorry!!!

Well... I am 8 weeks tomorrow, it's dress down day at work on Fridays and half my clothes look AWFUL on me - my hair is permanently greasy, and is in desperate need of a cut and colour, but due to circumstances from an ex being tied to my house still and deciding he can't afford to give me cash anymore so Im having to turn to the parents to help tell i get his name off the mortgage, but he's found out i'm pregnant by new partner and is being awkward as hell now... so I told dh that i can't afford hairdressers tomorrow and bless he offered to pay!

Eurgh basically I feel disgusting all the time, pale, unattractive, my hair has no shine and looks dry, and all out of shape, my clothes look awful, I was late for work this morning because i felt everything looks awful. Everyone says hold on you'lll be blooming soon - when!?!?

I've lost all momentum to go to the gym where i practically lived and i know i'll just balloon!!

I'm always crying or moody, hardly ever happy and when i am i'm just "ok"!!

Anyone else feeling this way?!?!

Early days yet hon - you'll get past this bit (obviously you'll get bigger, but you'll look pregnant rather than just getting rounder!). I'm just coming out the other side, my skin looked dreadful, my hair looked dreadful, until about 10.5 weeks, but its definitely getting better now the closer I get to the second trimester (thank GOD!!).

Sorry you are in a crappy situation, but your new partner sounds like a lovely guy so its going to get better for you - PLUS you get a gorgeous little baby at the end of it all. Its a short span of strange stuff for our bodies for a great prize at the end.

Big hugs.

xx

Oh yeah! Only 9 weeks but am already loosing my shape (or in the case of my waist it's long gone!). Really wanted to keep going to gym - but am too darn tired, and usually just collapse on the sofa after a day at work. I'm petrified of my wardrobe at the moment

As an added bonus I've broken out in spots

The only good thing is that no one else seems to be noticing anything - oh tells me I'm not looking any different. I guess these little changes seem so dramatic to us, but to everyone else they're not really noticable.

Really sorry to hear that your previous partner is giving you hassles - not what you need right now! Treat yourself to a nice long bath with a book tonight, then smother yourself in some nice smellie body lotion, get on some trakkie bottoms and chill out

Ahhhhh

Doing a few small things will make you feel a LOT better - feeling attractive is a sort of "upward spiral" once it gets going....

Definitely take your lovely hubby's offer to go and get your hair done - will make the WORLD of difference.

Plus, honestly, a bit of sensible/gently exercise will do you the world of good... (assuming you are having a normal pregnancy and, as you say, you did quite a lot before pregnancy). Not only is it very good for you and your pregnancy, but exercise releases endorphins that help you to feel "good about yourself". So much more than making you look more attractive, it makes you "feel" more attractive

Whatever you decide, take care. I think that we are often our own harshest critics: in our minds we look far far worse than we actually do.

I know how you feel, i was exactly same when i was in 1st tri. My hair was so greasy and lank and i got really bad spots and it just made me so ugly and unattractive. I know you said your struggling with money at the minute but asda do some brilliant hair masks which are only 99p and you use them once a week and they work wonders and i always found after using one of these that because my hair looked and felt better, that i felt better.

sorry, long reply. But I've felt similarly too...

Also on my eight week + days.

Some mornings, dressing to go to work is dreadful. I have a mess in the bedroom trying to take out the summery clothes to feel better. Don't you think that the change from wintery/springy to summer and having those coats still handy, is part of the change? Luckily the nice (warm) days have helped me to feel better, dressing with lighter clothe makes me feel happier in certain way.

Could it be that going through this weird situation at home with your ex-, obscures things? I think it's great that your current partner is super nice to you.

Go on girl, get your hair done, let yourself be pampered with that, and when you go outside again, enjoy the nice warmth in the air. Feel it inside of you.

At the moment, I guess there's no much we can do about the hair, spots, changes in general. I feel awful sometimes.... my dh tells me i look good. So I try to believe and keep on going day by day! These hormones can be dreadful sometimes.

I've been going through something similar with my ex. But the other way. I wanted to come off the mortgage and he tried to block it. It finally got sorted 2 weeks ago.

Pregnancy wise I have greasey hair, alot of dark roots showing, reddened and bumpy skin on my face, i'm getting out of breath just walking up the road, and when I walk I feel like I'm waddling! Surely it's too early to look like a pregnant duck!???

Anyhow, my current partner says he's so in awe of what we've created together that when he looks at me he can't help but smile and feel his love growing even stronger!

So spare a thought for your oh, he loves you for you, and he loves the fact that between you you've created something amazing! Take up his offer of getting your hair done, buy yourself a nice new outfit, and feel as wonderful and sexy as he still knows you are!

Enjoy xxxxx
