| Postpartum Hemorrhage....
I had my first midwife appointment today, I planned to have a water birth at the local birthing unit...but my midwife informed me that due to my history of 'postpartum hemorrhaging' this would not be possible as i would need a doctor (and possibly a team) present at the birth!...
Now i know i sound absolutely stupid but i really wasn't aware that it was not normal to loose loads of blood after childbirth!!
I had a blood transfusion after the birth of my son and i guess i was a bit giddy having just had my first baby as i just thought it was as my haemoglobin was low! but my midwife told me i lost over 3 pints of blood!!! and 2 pints when i had my daughter even with drugs in a drip (can't remember the name of the drug) to prevent that happening!!
Now i am totally petrified of giving birth!!! i keep thinking what if i bleed to death this time???? I just can't get it out of my head!!!
Has anyone else had this with previous pregnancies?
