Mums?!? - Advice on nappies

Can anyone please give me a rough idea of how many nappies a baby goes through in a week? We are stocking up and I don't want to get too many of one size.

Thanks

If I remember rightly, mine went through 1.5-2 packs of the size 1 nappies a week initially.

I'd buy a few packs of size 1 and then a few of size 2, then wait and see how big your baby is. My 1st was 9lb 3oz and long, he outgrew size 1 within a week. My 2nd (8lb) outgrew them within 2-3 weeks and my 3rd (7lb 2oz) was in them for quite a while.

Also, don't stock up on too many of the same brand, different nappies work better on different babies. Huggies were great with my 1st, but not good with my 2nd or 3rd, Pampers worked best with those. I also found the Sainsburys nappies really good too.

right im trying to rememember haha i actually started zane off on size 2 nappies as he would then have room to grow he was 8lb3 at birth and they fitted nicely till he was around 3 months then i went up to the size 3.

i wouldnt really bother buying newborn packs as the sizes ones or twos work just aswel.

they say a newborn will do anything between 6-12 nappies aday zane alone went thru 6 nappies the night he was born all black poop that was fun lol

EDIT: Tesco own were very good and so were asda own i hate pampers as zane leaked everywhere when he wore them, i no use huggies they r great Ell87 is right dont just buy one brand u will have to shop around and make ur mind up on what brand u like.

i only bought 2 packs of nappies b4 zane was born as i had no idea what or how many to get i just sent my oh out nappie shopping when i needed more

Id say 2 packs a week for the 1st few weeks.
def would reccomend huggies natural fit, altough a tad more expensive, they were by far the best for my LO. pampers just leaked!

katie wasnt in size 1 very long, she was 9lb12 so really didnt fit in them long! i agree withthe others, it took us ages to find nappies tat worked properly for us. apparently pampers arent very good with boys and leak. at first i loved asdas own and tescos own, but as katie's got bigger the tescos dont seem to work as well. i go for pampers now. have you considered reusables?? they work out tonnes cheaper and dont take that much work xx

2 packs a week is a lot ... thats almost 10 nappies a day

We've never used that many, even when she was newborn. You have to remember it depends on the baby, some want changing as soon as they have wee'd and wont sit wet, others it doesnt bother them. We used 6 - 8 nappies a day when Brooke was newborn and now we use 5 or 6 a day. We've never suffered from nappy rash once.

Brooke gets changed everytime she has a feed, and then inbetween if she has poope

Amber went through up to 10 nappies every 24hours. That may have been because she was fed every 2-3hrs, i dont know.
Im only buying size 1 nappies for first 2 weeks max. Then size 1.
