Woke up with itchy welts!!!!

Yesterday I had a few itchy welts when I woke up in the morning, but I figured I was bitten by mosquitoes, because I was outside even though I never saw one. But today I woke up with more and I wasn't outside yesterday. I'm scared!

I'm going to try and see a doctor after school today. I read about rashes during pregnancy and it seems that there are all different kinds - some that are harmless, some that are dangerous to the baby and some that even threaten the mother's life. I shouldn't read so much.

Anyone else had this before?

I'll update this evening - hopefully.

Where are they? On the belly? Could be urticaria which is fairly common. Don't worry, life threatening rashes are incredibly rare just like anything else really.

There's some on my belly, hips, thighs, behind my knees, elbow, one wrist, neck. There's not piles of them, but several on random parts of my body. I couldn't get an appointment with my doctor - he's delivering a baby I was told - but I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon.

They look like this:

It looks and sounds like urticaria to me. I suffer with it when there are extremes of temperature. So, in winter... if I wear short tops, I get it on the back of my hips. In summer if I use a feather duvet, I get them on my arms and legs.

In pregnancy you're more prone due to your body's fluctuating temp, if you're finding that you're hotter than usual this might be something to do with it. I use a steroid cream when I have a flare up but I don't know if you can when you're pregnant so it's best to wait and see them.

Maybe that's it! It has been hot the last couple days! I hope you're right. That sounds like nothing to worry about.

SO I just have to say I got a huge patch on my bum
They are really itchy and were really big for a few days. I put diaper rash cream on them because I have no idea what they were or where they came from. That took the itch out of the bumps and they seemed to have disappeared.

I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Most are gone this morning (well they just look a little red, but notv raised and no itching), but I do have two new ones. I'm starting to think it isn't a big deal, but I'm still glad I have an appointment today to double check.

UPDATE: I saw my doctor and he said they're hives and that I've had some sort of allergic reaction. He gave me a antihistamine prescription that is safe to take while pregnant.

Thanks for all your replies and comments!
