Angry

So hacked off!

I had my first appt last night at the Gynacologist (spelling?). She slotted me in as a last min appt as otherwise she wouldnīt have been able to see me til next week - which normally would have been fine by me, but as I fly short haul and domestic flights I asked what the situation was re working. She told me not to fly and like I said managed to slot me in last night.

Gave me a load of bumpf, was measured and weighed, had blood tests, blood pressure etc and a scan - she didnīt think sheīd be able to see anything and was right as Iīm only 5+2 weeks, but said she just wanted to check everything looked OK cos I fly a lot. She thought she could make out something but wasnīt sure, and said it was quite normal at this early stage. My blood tests has come back today positive, so I know feel like everything is right and the blood tests and 4 positive pregnancy tests can not be wrong. Besides which, my boobs are mega sensitive (canīt lie on my stomach to sleep unfortunately), and I can feel my stomach and back aching all the time - its not painful, just always there, so I do feel something good is happening.

I was on a high when I phoned the docs and then phoned work to tell them that I canīt fly anymore. Doc said she couldnīt prohibit me from doing it and I know a lot of girls at work do carry on flying until the 3 or 4th month esp if they are not showing - but she didnīt recommend I do it. So on her advice Iīm stopping flying. I then phoned the Personnel Dept to tell them and the woman I spoke to almost laughed at me when I said how far gone I was - its now her job to find me a job on the ground for the next few months. She said "it was very early to stop flying but if that was what I wanted...then so be it" and she would contact me when she had found something for me to do. I am so p***ed off, who is she to judge whether I stop flying or not? She has no idea of my health of my past history and sheīs not a doctor. I just told her I was acting on the advice of my gynacologist.

Sheīs completely burst my bubble though now.

Sorry rant over now!

IGNORE HER!!!!!!! As you said, who is she? She knows nothing about your well-being, so her opinion and attitude counts for nothing!

You are doing what is best for you & your baby, and that is what matters hun........you get that bubble flying again, as to let someone like her burst it, would be such a shame, she really isn't worth it.

Glad everything went well in your appointment. And don't put any mind on that lady. Its really none of her business and like you said, she doesn't know anything about you. Don't let it get you down. Cheer up and enjoy your pregnancy

CKToo, you have to do what's right for you - ignore that lady, what she said was really presumptious and rude. Like others have said, she doesn't know you or your history and it's widely known that it is not advisable to fly in the first couple of months. She probably couldn't be bothered trying to find some other work for you to do and was trying to fob you off by making you feel guilty. Remember the health and safety law is on your side!

Good luck hun, have a happy and healthy nine months!

Those people aren't doctors and aren't qualified to give you medical advice! You are doing the right thing in finding a ground job, to bad these people can't see that
