Hi all,

I had the scan today, the one the doctor sent me for. I was there for 2 hours in the end. They couldnt see anything. But said that was because it was too early. Is that right!
And then they put me in the bracket of a potential ectopic pregnancy! They took my blood and then I had to have a chat with the doctor. Went home and they called me back a few hours later. Blood results showed around 600 hcg level. She said this was quite low, but it seems normal on the bracket thing. So then she arranged for me to go in on Sat morning for another blood test to see if the hormones double up or not, and then for another scan. It really isnt my week. I am really worried now, and I just cant think about anything else.

I couldn't see anything at my 5wk scan. It's fine

And they thought mine was ectopic and it wasn't

did you have any period type pains?

The reason I had the scan in the first place was because I took the morning after pill and then had bad period-like cramps. I was so scared, so I can imagine how you feel. On my next scan I saw the heartbeat though. I hope everything turns out ok for you

HCG of 600 low at 4 weeks? that is odd.
mine was 531 and my doctor never raised any flags.

Yes, thats the same reason I had to have a scan. Its such a shame, I regret taking it so much.
I was so indecisive taking it anyway. Now I will be devastated if something is wrong.
I thought the hcg was ok, I was surprised at there reaction to that, and they said they didnt know what was going on with me!
No reassurance what-so-ever. Still I guess I dont really deserve to have it easy.

Don't beat yourself up about it. You did what you thought was best. Your little one was obviously meant to be here and they're not gonna give up without a fight !

thats true I just feel so guilty making it so difficult for them.
They have to work so hard as it is.
I just hope it all works out ok. I have a bad feeling though.

Dont feel guilty about it hun, you havent done anything wrong.

The other thing Ive noticed is, doctors never tell you it might be ok, they always try to prepare you for the worst. Which is probably due to the 'lets-sue-your-ass' culture the people seem to be enjoying these days.

Take it easy and just wait and see. 5 weeks is very early still.
