I'm Currently Feeling: | "It's not uncommon to feel lightheaded or dizzy occasionally. When you're pregnant, your cardiovascular system undergoes dramatic changes: Your heart rate goes up, your heart pumps more blood per minute, and the amount of blood in your body expands by 40 to 45 percent.
During a normal pregnancy, your blood pressure gradually decreases in the beginning, reaching its lowest point in the middle of your pregnancy. It then begins to rise, returning to its regular level by the end of pregnancy.
Most of the time, your cardiovascular and nervous systems are able to adjust to all these changes, but occasionally they don't, which can leave you feeling lightheaded or a bit dizzy. If you actually faint, it could be a sign that something is wrong, and you should call your practitioner. " |

Heart Rate During Pregnancy
It is during pregnancy that your heart rate tends to rise, owing to the fact that the volume of blood that is being pumped through your heart increases. The rise in your pregnancy heart rate is not only likely to affect your health fitness, but also your baby's fitness levels. If your heart beats faster, then the pregnancy baby heart rate is also expected to be high. Read further to explore information about heart rate during pregnancy…
If you are already blessed with a child and this is the second time you will be conceiving or if you are expecting twins this time, then the blood flow to your heart will be even more, thus leading to a much faster heart rate. Ideally your heart rate should not exceed 140 beats per minute. When you are in your third trimester, as in the stage of last three months of your pregnancy, there is likelihood that there will be a tremendous increase in your heart rate approximately by about 10-20 beats per minute.
It is during pregnancy that the need arises for inhaling more oxygen for fetal development to take place properly. Usually the resting heart rate of a woman is 70 beats per minute, but when pregnant, her pregnancy resting heart rate tends to increase up to 85 beats per minute. Fitness levels also act as major factors that help in deciding your target heart rate.
Pregnant women should not opt for high intensity workouts; rather they should look out for moderate workout options like walking. They should workout for not more than 20-25 minutes at an average heart rate, which means about 50-60% of the maximum heart rate. So, exercise to keep healthy and fit, but take care, not to over attempt, because that can boost up your heart rate, making it hazardous for you as well as your baby.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Suzan, I'm not so sure about my heart getting louder but my PULSE is definitely stronger, which is common amongst pregnant women because of the 40%+ increase in blood. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yea it doesn't get louder I don't think, it's just working so much harder plus I believe it increases in size and moves more central so you notice it more.
I used to hear it all the time when I was pregnant, and know the exact feeling you mean so don't worry. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Does your blood flow and heart rate increase even early on - or only in the later stages of pregnancy? |
