Backache and Co-codamol

I have been suffering really bad backache since Thursday morning which started to ease off until today when it got that bad I could hardly move.

I seen my GP who doesnt think it has anything to do with the pregnancy. He said normal paracetamol won't ease the pain so gave me Co-codamol 8mg+500mg.

I have just read somewhere that Co-codamol should not be taken when pregnant and now I am even more worried. Has anyone been given Co-codamol in early pregnancy. I am probably worrying over nothing but right now every little thing in this pregnancy is worrying me.

I had SPD during pregnancy, and they wouldn't give me any painkillers at all, even though I could hardly walk.

I would check with the pharmacy you got your prescription from hun. Sometimes they are more clued up than the doctors!

I have had co-codamol with both pregnancies.......and everything was fine for me. I had it for sciatica in the first and SPD in the second, which never touched it so they gave me co-dydramol which is stronger, so I really wouldn't worry hun. And my Doctor is the bee's knees......she specialises in Pregnancy and she wrote to a specialist about other pills I was on at the time and got the go ahead with this at the same time just to ease my mind.
