Just found out I am pregnant

Hiya

I am in my 5th week of pregnancy after many many many months of trying. It's my first pregnancy and I was under the care of an IVF Unit, though in the end I got pregnant after just one round of Clomid.

Anyway - I called the unit and they have arranged a scan for me at about 8 weeks. I am just wondering if anyone has any experience of this? I am guessing they want to see me early because I was under their care (I had unexplained infertility) but am not sure if this scan will replace the 12 week scan?

what do you think?

Not sure about your scans, they may have you back every few weeks to check on you.

I just wanted to say congratulations and I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months.

Hi congratulations! No this should be an early scan to make sure all is going ok and you'll still get your 12 week scan!! Hope everything goes well for you xx

I am just hoping this sticks ... it's all very exciting after trying so long.

Glad to hear I should get the 12 week scan too. Which one do they tell you the sex at?

I know so much about TTC but nothing at all about being pregnant!

OOOh not until 20 weeks for the sex! everyone knew i was having a girl last time though before the scan, my mum said she just knew ha x

told my mum and my sister and my OH's mum. I really really want to tell my best friend but can't yet.
No one in work knows.

it's so hard not telling particularly as so many of my friends were helping me through the traumas of TTC!
