Is delivering early/late genetic?

My husband was 2 weeks early and I was 2 weeks late and I wondered if there was a genetic link and if so is passed down through the mother or the father's side?

Myself and 4 siblings were all late and DH and his sister were late but both of mine were 5 weeks early

I was 2 weeks later and my younger brother was 2 weeks early

I was late and all my sisters were early..... both my children were 2 weeks late... so i don't think it could be.... My Mum always told me you're first will be late and any babies after will be early! don't think thats true either lol x

Unfortunately I think babies come when they want to... I wouldn't mind mine being a week early like I was (and I think OH was)!

Mums and nans births were all 2 weeks early and good weights..so i'm hoping and praying, although not keeping my hopes up!! lol

Think all down to the women, and there child.
If baby wants come early they'll certainly try, might be complications to why or just fancies ir.
OR baby might be 2weeks late just dont want to appear lol
i was 3 days late, amber was 4 days late.

I always thought it was genetic so a few weeks after our

i was asking my mum and getting OH to ask his, about who was late/early and by how much etc.

My Mum has four children and all but the last one were late, ranging from 8 days to 14 days overdue, the exception being my little brother who she had a difficult pregnancy with. OH has two younger sisters, he was early, they were both late.

I am not sure if it actually has anything to do with it though, every pregnancy is so different it's probably not even relevant but i have decided i am probably going to end up going overdue and i am preparing myself for that fact.

My pregnancy book says fewer than 5% of babies are born on their EDD and that the majority of babies are born between week 39 and 41.

my mum had me 8weeks early-i had my son 7weeks early.
she had my sister 2 weeks early-im hoping i get that far in this pregnancy!!
