Is anyone else having a hard time with reactions of friends and family after sharing the news? My family (not all, but some) have reacted differently than I thought they would...I mean, they don't seem as happy as they were when I got pregnant the first time. Of course WE are overjoyed..and actually planned it...but my BF and I had some relationship issues a while back and I think that is why they aren't jumping for joy. It just makes it hard for me to want to tell anyone else.

DH's family wasn't very excited. They were like, 'Oh..okay'. My family is overjoyed, but they know how hard we've been trying. DH's family..well, they hate me so (honestly they do..they've told me) so I guess they're thinking that he's 'stuck' with me now, LOL.

I am also having a hard time telling some friends and family....I had a misscarage last year, my mom didn't respond well to that pregnancy....my dad even worse...
I have a lot of support from some people!
my best friend of 28 years was giving me "lectuers" prior to this pregnancy about all kids of stuff. my partner and I have had a long disdance relationship befor he moved in 3 months ago, this is an unplanned pregnancy... we had spoken about waiting 'till next Oct.08.
The way I see it...Just remember that each little one is an amazing gift from the universe.. a little miracle!
Should someone not be happy for the both of you then that's their view... and for what ever reason they can't move past their own judgement.
I think that once the little one comes into the world.. then some of those that may not send the love at this time....wont be able to help themselves once they meet the little one.. and see that you and your partner are doing fine!!!

Thank you for your responses...It's good to know I am not alone, however I am sorry at the same time that you both are going through what your going through...I know that the idea of me having another baby will take some getting used to, heck.. I am not even used to it yet! Good luck to you both!

we had a similar response. his parents showed no excitment(i too am hated!)and even refused to see scan pixs!!after a while you just think, sod 'em!their loss after all. now they act like they are the greatest grandparents around(my arse!) even put annoucements in the papers when bub was born!!

tune it out and enjoy YOUR pregnancy is my advice, a new bub is wonderful news!!
