Aww cute video, I'm jealous. I never thought to bring our camera to the visits. Also, I'm getting the testing done because if there is something wrong with our child I want to be able to be well prepared with the best specialists. I'm fairly young but I have seen younger moms with special needs children and I know it happens. Hopefully all is well but if not I want to know that I have the best care available when our babies born.

I think its different for everyone hun.

My midwife and OH dont want me to have the tests for down syndrome done bacuse its such a small possibility, but I would rather know. Im not going to do anything if it does, Ill still keep the baby, but I would rather think about things like work and money and all that sort of stuff and have plenty of time to prepare rather than finding out on the day and have to figure stuff out then.

Thats just me though, everyone is different and its completely your choice!

Ill have a look at the vid when I get home, Im so jelous! I cant wait for my scan now!

I really appreciate your advice... and a lot of you are right... everyone is different... some people want to get the test done to make sure things are OK and some people don't want to know anything at all...

Anyway.. Im glad you all liked my video and heard my baby's heartbeat!!! I think from now on I will be taking my video camera in and using it to show my family and friends... and you girls too!!!

DeeStar so glad you got to hear your lil ones heartbeat. Good idea to video tape it too as you can hold on to that forever! So precious!

I got my genetic test results back and it gave me 1 in 32 000 odds for the baby having Down sydrome.
I feel really at ease now.

I just had to know. My husband works with developmentally challenged adults, and it may be selfish from me to say this, but I don't know how I could deal with having my child go through this.
However, I do understand and respect people who refuse testing.
