12 week scan and problem

I've been doing a lot of reading but this is my first post here. Wanted to know if any of you ladies ever experienced the same problem as me and could share some insight. We just went for our first ultrasound today and saw our baby--very exciting. The tech and Dr. wouldn't tell me anything but then I got a call a few hours after I got back to work and they want me to come back for a repeat ultrasound next week. They were concerned b/c the baby had a full bladder throughout the entire scan and had not emptied it (it took a good 45 minutes with all the measurements they took) which they felt was abnormal. Has anyone else know anything about this? Of course I've been googling all the possible problems this could mean...

Never come across it I'm afraid. Hope everything works out OK and it's nothing too serious.

Thanks for the msgs. It's always the initial shock of hearing something could possibly be wrong with the baby. We've gotten less worried as the days have gone by until the next ultrasound--but just a bummer that you can't feel completely happy about anything. This pregnancy was after I had miscarried in Nov. so even when we found out we were pregnant again, it was like "okay good", but still holding our breaths.

At this stage, it's impossible to tell whether or not something's wrong... you can really only hang on and wait until the next scan. Have you got people around who can support you until then?

I haven't ever come across this but the best advice is try not to google it hun as it's never usually a happy outcome when Google is involved and it will probably scare and worry you more. Big and I hope it turns out to be nothing. xxx

Just wanted to post an update--this AM went back for another ultrasound to see if the baby's bladder is okay and everything looked fine. It had emptied no problem and there's no blockage and wasn't a cyst. The one week wait felt super long! Guess they are just extra careful with these things, so we are relieved and happy now.
