It started last night when I was in bed, when I took a breath in I felt a sharp pain under my rib cage on my left hand side. I had trouble sleeping, but thought by the morning it would be gone. Didnt really think it was anything pregnancy related..

But it's still there now, it feels like a bubble of trapped air, its really uncomfortable.

Just wondered if anyone else has had this pain..

Might well be totally nothing to do with being pregnant !!

Hmm could be gas Louisa, try drinking some hot water to see if it eases.

I got pains like that even when i wasnt pregnant. I just breathed in real deep (even though it hurt like a biatch), and eventually it went away. It was always on the left side too.

I got this when I was pg and it was always on the left side,wonder what it is ? I still get it now occasionally it is very painful xxxxx

I get them too but ive had them on the right aswell.

I remember my sister had a pain in her ribs. Her doctor said it was probably the baby stretching all of her organs into her ribs. She was 4-5 months along when it started, so I'm not sure if your's would be the same thing.

I'm not sure if I have the same pain or not that you are referring to, but last night I had a pain in my right side under my rib. It seemed to go away after my hubby rubbed it for a while and hasn't returned back today, so I'm not sure if it was pregnancy related or not since I'm only about 5 weeks along.

Yeah I thought so to, I did have a big meal that night so I'm thinking that might have had something to do with it, up until now I've been eating little and often, I went on a munch last night and had the biggest jacket potato you've ever seen.. lol
