Doctor's Visit

Hey everyone-

I have a doctor's visit on Thursday where they will be listening for the heartbeat and allowing my husband and I to hear it. I have heard mixed rumors floating around that my doctor's office should have waited until 12 weeks to listen to the heartbeat...because they may not be able to hear it quite yet. I am a little over 10 weeks, so do you think we will be able to hear the heartbeat on Thursday? I sure hope so....it's the only thing I've been excited about all week!

Most office's do an Trans Vaginal U/s to "see" the heartbeat that early. That's what mine next Friday is for. I'm not sure if they will be able to hear anything that soon, but it's worth a shot. That would be awesome if they could catch it.

They should be able to hear it, I had a pelvis and a TV ultrasound, when they listen to it with a doppler and or an us pelvis they should, might be very faint. I was able to kinda hear it at 8 weeks

I have the same issue. I'm going in Monday at 9 weeks and I think it'll be a TVUS and I'm SO hoping to hear the heartbeat, but...might not be able to...doesn't help with all the fat I'm carrying around, lol

I think if they do a trans vaginal they will be able to pick it up. Might be to early for a doppler though.

I saw the heart beat with a TVUS at 7 weeks, my OB said at 11.5 weeks (when my next US is) that I should be able to hear it.
