Likelihood of dates changing between very early scan and dating scan

Has anybody had an early scan (in my case, 7wks), at which you were given a rough idea of dates, but then when you went for your first "proper" scan (the 12-wk NHS dating scan) you found out you were actually a lot further on than originally thought?

Just interested really ... but I've always been convinced for various reasons that I'm a bit further on than what my date says.

I had my early scan @ 5 weeks and @ my dating scan they moved me forward 3 days xx

I had a scan at 6 weeks and then ay 8 weeks and in total so far have been put forward 3 days!

so I'll be interested in seeing what they do at my 12 week scan to!

TBH unless you don't know the date of you LMP then go by the dates of your scan. I will go by the date according to my LMP. Reason being, with my last baby, My due date was 9th june 2008, dating scan pushed me back to 14th june 2008. Caitlyn was born on 8th June 2008 the day before MY date. I think dating scans are a bit strange as not every baby will be the same size at 12 weeks. And to say they are is just bizzarre!

My LMP said I'd be due 16th Sept, my early scan said 25th Sept, my 12 week scan said 21st Sept, and I had a scan last thursday which put me at 18th Sept.
I'm going with the 22nd Sept though, as I have 5 week cycles and I've been spot on guessing the due dates of my other 2!!

I had an early scan at 6 1/2 weeks and then at the 13 1/2 week scan, I was put as 14 weeks and 3 days - so about a week ahead. I think this was because my son was just bigger - he was nearly 10 pounds when born and quite long. His daddy is tall!
