Question

8 weeks tomorrow! some ???'s

Hey everyone, I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and I have mostly stopped bleeding. Well yesterday after walking around the mall for a little while I felt pretty bloated. Later on that day I started to spot, again! and feel REALLY bloated. With some cramping. Is this normal?? The bloating has actually become uncomfortable.

Well I hit 8 weeks yesterday, and I have not had any spotting at all. I have noticed that I have started cramping again on friday and have done so off and on since then. I guess there is a lot going on with the little bit from one of the books I have. It is growing a lot right now, so I guess my uterus is just adjusting to that. As long as the cramping is not horrible, I have been told it is ok. If it takes your breath away and doubles you over, then definatly call your doctor. And my midwife told me that she had a period the first few months of her pregnancies, it is not uncommon.

The bloating could be gas. Think of all the new hormones floating around our bodies. I know it has thrown my digestive system all out of wak. My midwife suggested a probiotic pill, and it has been helping. I think it will just take a while for it all to settle down.

I think you should call your doctor or midwife and talk to them, they will know much more than any of us and will be able to set your mind at ease. Which I am finding hard, this is my first baby, and I worry all the time. It is something I am working on.

I hope this helps. Just take it easy, rest and make that call.

I can't remember if you had a scan - do you have one or another soon? I spotted most of my first tri and there was no reason for it.

Bloated and cramps are normal in pregnancy.

Samantha- Thank you so much. I do really think that most of it is gas.
and Wobbles- I have already had 3 scans. two from my GP and one at the hospital. The one at the hospital was a week ago and the baby looked fine and the heart beat was at 124bpm. I just can't help but worry. I will fell a little better when I get passed the 13 week mark.

It is so very hard not to worry. I think that is just part of this whole experience. Plus the fact that I am a worrier by nature. But my midwife said something to me that has helped me. She asked me where I got my worrying from? Of course my parents, both of them are worriers. Well she said 'if you continue to worry about everything, you will be doing the same thing to your child.' And I realized she it right. I don't want my child to worry about everything all the time like I do. So when I start to worry that something is wrong, I have a little visual that helps me get through it. Now, you have to come up with something that works for you, but for me (don't laugh) but it was Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She would slay my worries until I can get past the thought. My midwife visualized a great wedge of light that would cut through the dark clouds of worry she had. As silly as it is, it has really helped me. Now I just think that I am doing all I can to ensure my health and my baby's health, but if something goes wrong, there is nothing I did or can do to change it. I just keep the faith that things will go right. Now that we have hit 8 weeks, there is a 95% chance of having a successful pregnancy! This gives me lots more hope!

of course ur going to worry if ur spotting=== i had the cramping without spotting at 8 weeks went to ER checked out fine--- got my first ultrasound that way--- i was reassured that there wasnt anything wrong with it=-===said it was just uterus stretching---but boy did it hurt had me bent over in pain === and then happened again at say 21 or 22 weeks but again only lasted a day and went to ER except that time they took me upstairs as i was already past the 20 week mark--- again nothing---just said i could of been dehydrated or uterus stretching again--- i guess they were right cause its def. stretched out now---got stretch marks from that week ----

and about feeling or looking bloated that goes away too but you'll get it once in a while throughout the pregnancy ---i have thus far---mostly in the first tri---also when i gained the most---
