Let's talk about our Other Halves!!


Any stories anyone would like to share? How did they take it? How did you tell them? How are they acting now that they know?


Because our pregnancy was completely unplanned and concieved on the pill, my OH, as you can guess, was not exactly bouncing off the walls with joy, lol.

He said, are you sure? So i showed him the five tests i'd done. I was pretty sure. Lol.

Then, after discussions and tears and arguements, we agreed to go ahead with the unplanned baby, and now he has been wonderful. He has given up smoking with me (which is a big deal for him) and brought a load of pregnancy and baby books and has happily been talking about it at any chance he can get, so he's really been wonderful about it.

So, how is everyone elses OH reacting to the news?

Mine was the one who suggested to me to test! So I did without telling him! It took a few tests to sink in, but he is soo happy now, it was a unplanned planned accident!!!

hes been ace, putting up with weird mood swings, weird food habits, and is basically really looking after me! Im making the most of it whilst it lasts!!

haha we got pregnant on the pill too Even though he was the one who told me to take a test in the first place. I think he knew before I did. It took him a few days of thinking it through and letting reality set in before he was ok! But now he is wonderful and very proactive, always trying to help me out and I catch him reading the books and websites

The other day I was feeling sick (of course) and he looked at me very seriously and explained that I am sick because my placenta is not producing the hormones needed yet my body still is and I should feel better after the 9 week hormone spike

This baby was planned, but our last pg wasnt planned as i also fell on the pill!!

My oh thinks that the "kings of leon" got me pregnant, reason being is i had a vivid sex dream involving all 4 of them around ovulation!!

My OH was really happy to start with as were were TTC. But then everything went downhill when I went for an early reassurance scan and discovered we were having twins and he became the OH from hell - stormed off, wouldn't talk to me and generall acted like a complete arse. But then all of a sudden he calmed down and started trying to be supportive. He's now pretty calm and collected about the whole thing and I am the one who's freaking out about everything. So the last 5 weeks or so have been a real rollercoaster of emotions lol

Mine hasn't been much different really.

No, that's a total lie thinking about it. He was pleased with himself to start with, then indifferent, then went spacko about it, then calmed down, then went on a weekend drinking session, then got all apologetic and cuddly, then he went away to Germany, and the last few days he has been moaning of back-ache, head-aches, he's like a bear with a sore head, totally grumpy one minute, then calling me back an hour later and being all soppy and telling me how amazing I am and how much he loves me and misses me.

He's home tomorrow, so we'll see what mood he's in then. He has been very moany though, not enough bjs, no meals getting cooked for him, fed up of me not eating and being sick all the time, annoyed he can't play with my massively inflated funbags (cos they are soooo sore)

You know what?? If I wasn't being so sick and had such sore boobs, I'd be convinced it was HIM that was carrying this child, the bloody moaning minny!!

It was about 11:30pm the other evening and I complained of needing something sweet to eat, and I asked him if there were any cookies in the house. He said no and offered me some Chex Mix. NOT THE SAME THING. Anyway, I pouted a bit and he says "What, do you want me to go to the store and get you some?" so I say "Yes, would you?" and he got all bent out of shape. When I asked him why he offered, he tells me he was being Condescending. I not so politely told him to keep comments like that to himself and he wouldn't be in this situation, now Go Get Me My Cookies, since HE OFFERED! He huffs and puffs and starts to get up to get dressed and I say "nevermind it."
Well, he buries his head in the pillow and refused to speak more than 2 words to me for like, a good half hour.
WHAT ARE YOU POUTING FOR? You didn't even get me the d*mned cookies. What, I said something mean to you? Hurt your feelings?

I hate when men mope over foolishness.

Maybe I'm mean...but I don't think so. I think I just really wanted cookies.

My OH has been amazing since we found out x we'd been trying for 6 months so were both over the moon when we got our x
He has been lovely but tells me that I cant over use being pregnant as an excuse for him to do stuff for me
