I heard mine at 11 weeks or just before maybe can't remember. it's a little tricky to find but find your pubic bone and place the doppler in the middle just above it (almost on it, it has to be as low as possible). Now angle the doppler down towards your lady bits, mine was at quite a steep angle. Now my baby is from the left ovary so he is just to the left but just angle the doppler in lines varying the angle downwards. Be slow about it and 1mm can make all the difference. My babies heartbeat is just next to mine (could be different for you) so it's a long swishing sound (mine) then 1mm to the left it's a fast galloping or fast windmill sound at roughly 150bpm. Use plenty of gel and be patient. Also if your placenta is on the front wall then you may not hear it for a few more weeks so don't panic. Mine is really loud now which is excellent and it takes seconds not minutes to find. Good luck it's lovely hearing it. xxx

Hello I got mine today, i struggled at first and then found it. Basically lie down, then put the doppler in line with your bellybutton straight down on you pubic hair line or thereabouts, thats where i found mine!! I went onto youtube and searched to see where other people had been putting their dopplers to hear it, and it was where i have descibed almost everytime, and bingo i found mine today after struggling on my own trying to find it for about 30mins!!

Good luck, it may of course take a couple more weeks til you find it as your a couple weeks behind me xxx

I first used my Doppler (Angelsounds) at 10 weeks 5 days and picked up the heartbeat at 187 BPM (I had just had a Pepsi ) on my second try (I tried for 30 minutes the first time than took a break with no success). Taking a break when I couldnt find it was probably the best thing, as after looking for a while, it got sort of nerve-wracking. The 2nd try I found it surprisingly quickly when I looked more to the left.

Basically look anywhere below your bellybutton, but above your pubic hair line and go slow; even the slightest movement can make quite a big difference. My LO seems to like to hide more to the left, sometimes quite far over... (at least I have to go far to pick up her heartbeat) I rarely even bother to look in the middle anymore Everyone is different I guess!

I usually do it sitting up on the couch/sofa, with my ass right on the edge of the cushion -- envision how Al Bundy sits from Married with Children (all slouched)! If you cant find bubs laying in one position, try sitting/laying differently. You cant tell bubs to move when they're lying awkwardly (well you could, but I dont know if they'd listen ), but you can move in hopes of encouraging/making them to move!

Best of luck to you, bird! Let us know how it goes!
I hope you get to hear your bean loud and clear!
If not, no worries, as Im sure you will in no time...
