Changing hospitals

Hi there,

Well I got my scan appointment through this morning! YAY!

Unfortunately I'm out of the country at the time and so had to reschedule it for the week after I get back. I looked through all the bumpf that came with the appointment letter and it turns out the hospital I registered with don't offer home births. I really want to try for a home birth. I did mention this to my Dr as she asked me which hospital I wanted to go with and she just said that I'd have to wait until the booking appointment to discuss this with the midwife... Can I change hospitals? And how do I go about it?

Its a real pain as the hospital I'm registered with is at the top of my road! And the other one on offer is miles away... I really want a home birth to be an option though.

Any advice gratefully received.

hi,
surely it wont be too difficult to change hospitals. just make sure you speak to someone at the earliest oppertunity.
i must be lucky, i can wait until i'm nearly ready to explode to choose.

I tried to change a few weeks back as my consultants registrar is a cock, and was told had to get either obstertrician or midiwfe there to refer me to other hospital, not sure if its same for you, but possibly could be. Hope you get sorted chick xxx
