so much for staying away! Update - miscarrying

Hello again!

If all looked ok I think I would just be sitting tight and hoping for the best and would be trying to stick to my little promise to stay away for a bit.

But this morning I got quite a bit of pink/red blood on tissue. Seems to have stopped now, but I am getting back ache just like AF so I think she's on her way.

The gp was really positive yesterday after listening to my symptoms, and she booked me straight in with midwife for this afternoon in an attempt to stop me from worrying I think! I filled in all the forms she gave me last night ready for the appointment, and guess I should still go, but I think by that time AF will have shown herself properly.

The hardest thing is knowing how pregnant I've felt for the last 10 days, feeling stuff going on in there, and having loads of positive tests - but then being told that it was probably just a chem and my bean never even implanted properly. I don't know about you, but as soon as I felt stuff happening, I couldn't think of it as just a few cells - it was my tiny baby. But because it was "probably just a chem" then this is a normal period coming and I should just be able to take it in my stride. But I don't know how

Hope you're all ok and doing well xx

Update Thurs pm: well looks like i'm definitely miscarrying - been to appointment with midwife (not much point really I know, only to ask a few questions that I knew she wouldn't be able to answer anyway - like why? and will it be the same next time? !)

She said that early mc happens in 80% of all first time pregnancies. 80%!! Never heard that stat before. But she did say in most of those the woman doesn't even know she's pregnant and AF comes on the day it's supposed to. In which case I don't know how they know that figure, but there you go that's what she said.

Anyway once again thank you all and I hope you all have wonderful healthy pregnancies. What with my and dh's alleged super-fertility (first month ttc and only bd twice in ov week!), I might be back soon with a sticky one. Fingers crossed.

Good luck lovely ladies xx

I am so sorry hun, fingers crossed your AF stays away! Go to the midwife anyway. Its not "just a chemical pregnancy" as soon as u get a positive test it is a baby, u r entitled to grieve if need be. I hope it all works out for u, thinking of u x

scally is right. they can't just blow it off as a chemical pregnancy. i would call it a miscarriage and you can grieve if you need to grieve. i hope your appointment goes well. remember that 1 in 5 women bleed in pregnancy, and many go on to have healthy babies.

Good luck hun. I hope it's just implantation bleed and not mc. Rest up and take care of yourself

You wouldn't have been pregnant for 10 days with a chemical, if you're loosing this baby it's an early miscarriage (not that it makes a difference to the outcome). Either way, it hurts, and you're allowed to grieve - no one should expect you to "take it in your stride". But don't give up hope yet, I'm 12 weeks and still have cramps and feel like AF is about to show.
