What's the earliest anyone has been for a scan and seen a heartbeat?

Hi there,

I got a phonecall from my mw this morning to say that she has got me an appointment for an early scan on Friday morning. I think I'm approx 6+3 (6+5 by Friday) although my GP seems to think I'm between 7 & 8 weeks. I just want to know what I can expect to see on Friday if my calculations are right
(6+5). I had an early scan during my last pregnancy but that was due to bleeding and I was unable to see anything as the baby had stopped developing at 5 weeks so I have nothing to compare with really. As much as everything seems fine at the moment (touch wood) I am absolutely terrified and am just praying that Fridays scan will give me some peace of mind.

I would be so grateful if you could share your experiences

Hi we had a scan at 6+1 and we saw babys heartbeat.

i had one at 6+6 and saw hb. X

You can see the heartbeat from 6 weeks onwards so you should see one. You might get an internal and this will give you a much better picture. xxx

I had an internal scan, at 6 + a couple of days (can't remember exactly) and saw the wee heart beating!

I had a scan at 6+2 and we couldnt see the heartbeat but i had another scan at 7+1 and we saw a heartbeat

External at 6+5 and the heartbeat was there!

Thank you - that's put my mind at rest a little. I'm sure I'm at least 6+3 so there is hope that providing everything is developing as it should be, then I will be able to see something on Friday. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that this bean is here to stay
